Egianus Kogoya Denies Sebby Sambom's Accusations, Calls It an Attempt to Bring Him Down

Papua - Egianus Kogoya, leader of a separatist group in Papua, strongly denied accusations made by Sebby Sambom, spokesperson for the armed criminal group (KKB). Kogoya asserted that his actions in the release of pilot Philips were motivated by humanity and a desire to resolve the conflict peacefully.

"Sebby Sambom's accusations are slander and an attempt to bring me down," Kogoya stated firmly. He declared that he never received bribes from the Indonesian government and that the proposal he submitted was purely for finding the best solution for all parties involved.

Kogoya also accused Sebby Sambom and his group, who claim to represent the KKB, of long-standing efforts to undermine him. He believes they are envious of his influence and leadership in Kodap III.

"They want to control the territory and resources in Papua, and I am an obstacle to their ambition," Kogoya said.

Furthermore, Kogoya insisted that the release of pilot Philips is clear evidence of his continuous efforts to build dialogue and peace. He stated that he never desired violence and is always open to negotiating with the Indonesian government.

"I call on all Papuan people not to be swayed by the propaganda of Sebby Sambom and his group. They only want to divide us and hinder our struggle for independence," Kogoya urged.

Regarding the possibility of returning to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), Kogoya stated that he never intended to separate from NKRI. He only desires justice and prosperity for the Papuan people.

"If the Indonesian government is willing to engage in sincere and serious dialogue, I am ready to return to NKRI," Kogoya said.

However, he emphasized that if the Indonesian government continues to insist on using violence and repression, he will continue to fight for the rights of the Papuan people.

"I believe that the future of Papua lies in the hands of the Papuan people themselves. We must unite and fight together to achieve our goals," Kogoya concluded.
