Papuan Figure: KKB Violence in Papua Invites Public Enemy and International Spotlight

Papua – Living in harmony and peace seems difficult for the people of Papua. Terrifying intimidation and terror from the armed separatist criminal group (KKB) is increasingly intense, even causing many casualties.

This is a difficult question to answer, because the KKB is located in several regions in Papua, these groups often carry out rebellions to fight over their territory, so that the Papuan people become victims of the KKB's desires.

Some time ago, Intan Jaya Regency was again the target of armed criminal group (KKB) action on Saturday (20/01), which this time led to the burning of the official residence of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the area.

The brutal actions carried out by the armed criminal group (KKB) in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, received strong criticism from a number of local community figures.

One of the Papuan traditional leaders, Herman Albert Yoku, believes that the KKB's behavior is not just a criminal or cruel act, but has become a public enemy at the local, national and global levels.

In commenting on the latest KKB attack in Intan Jaya, Yoku emphasized that the burning of the ASN official residence was clear evidence that this group not only wanted to frighten the security forces, but also wanted to create fear and chaos in society.

"The KKB's behavior is increasingly seen as cruel and detrimental to the Papuan people. They not only target security forces, but also target civilians' homes. This is clearly a strategy to create tension and make them public enemies at the local, national and international levels," " he said.

The Papuan figure added that the KKB had the hidden aim of creating a bad image of Papua, depicting that the area was unstable and safe. This can hamper development in the Papua region.

"Their cruel actions will create a negative image of Papua, and this could have a negative impact on development and investment efforts in this area. Therefore, it is important for the community and government to unite against their detrimental actions," stressed Yoku.
